NHS Applications

Challenge

United Health is a provider of healthcare applications to the NHS. Their objective was to bring cutting edge tools to healthcare professionals from NHS Trusts to GP’s.

United Health needed to introduce UX to the UK branch of the organisation. They needed to consolidate the user experience of all their applications. We introduced UX best practices to the organisation and implemented UX methodologies across their enterprise of applications tools.

Our approach

We introduced UX methodologies to the organisation where we initially presented how UX will benefit the organisation and help produce tools that have been fully user-tested. Dispelling the assumption that user experience is user interface design, we collaborated with all aspects of the delivery team from the CTO, enterprise architects, DBA’s clinicians & doctors and the developers. We user behaviour used data analytics to drive our outcomes in delivering better applications.

Outcomes

United Health embraced the introduction of UX within the organisation, which was driven by the vision of the CTO. Their application delivery process was enhanced to incorporate UX processes as part of the delivery lifecycle. The outcome was that there was a change in how they delivered apps, but the results improved for the user. The implementation of research, user data analytics, wire-framing and prototyping was crucial in giving United Health a competitor advantage in providing tools and applications to the NHS.

Benefits

Better user experience reduced support of applications based on their existing clients. They attained better 1st-time results and less re-working of code, based on a proper set-up for user testing.

They provided cutting edge solutions to support the corporate vision that their products would never be to the detriment of someone’s health.
